Do you ever wake up on a morning where the sun is shining and the birds are singing only to spill breakfast all over your clothes, miss the bus, and watch the rest of the day get screwed up? Or do you wake up on a rainy morning and just know that something unfortunate is going to happen? In life, many days may seem to turn out that way but even if we cannot always see the beauty, remember that God makes every day beautiful.
Even when you seem to be having a lot of trouble. Or your dreams seem to be fading instead of coming true. Don’t stress about it. God is in control of your day. And He is more concerned about your life, right down to the tiniest detail, than you will ever be.
Every day is beautiful because it is like a new beginning. We have another chance to get it right. A fresh slate to fill up with good things. We can start chasing our dreams again. Or start over and dream a new dream.
Every day is beautiful because it is a gift. Many people go to sleep at night and fail to wake up in this world the next morning. Don’t take this day for granted. You have never seen it before. It won’t be seen ever again. The day may not go according to plan. Some mistakes will probably be made but don’t dwell on those. Arnold Bennett said: “You can turn over a new leaf every hour if you choose.” You were not made to fail, to fall down, and stay down. Get up and keep going until the day is finished.
Every day is beautiful because God’s mercies are new every morning. Lamentations 3:22-23 says: “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” This promise alone makes every day more beautiful than the last and gives us reason to live. Nothing is more beautiful than knowing that God’s Son, Jesus, made the ultimate sacrifice for us – and we did nothing at all to deserve it. Every morning we wake up, knowing we are blessed with mercies that will never end and a love that goes on and on and on and on…
This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.
- Psalm 118:24
