And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. – Galatians 6:9
Doing good works always produces good results and good feelings but that doesn’t make it any easier. Many times its just easier to be bad. Sometimes doing good is tiring but God encourages us in this verse to “not be weary in well doing.” When we serve others or choose to carry someone else’s burden we should not quit.
Even when we feel tired we should not be discouraged. We should not throw in the towel but persevere. We should never stop loving others by serving them. God wants us to know that He will reward us for doing good. When we selflessly love others, give generously and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ freely we will always, always, always reap a huge harvest of gratitude, blessings and love in return.
We can be assured however that this harvest will not come immediately. Some may not even see their harvest in this life but we can be certain that it will come in Heaven for God is One Who cannot lie and will never break His promise of returning and rewarding those who are faithful in doing good.
Give your hands to serve and your hearts to love. – Mother Teresa
