When God first created this world, it was peaceful and beautiful. Humans were perfect too, until Adam and Eve disobeyed in the Garden of Eden and plunged our entire race into a hopeless world of disease, chaos, war, and despair. It is for this reason we have so many people who are poor and needy today. As Christians, it is our duty to help those people. Everyone has problems and issues, so it doesn’t matter who they are or what we think of them.
We should always look for ways to help and give to others everyday of the year, because people need our help and people matter. Even if you can’t help a person by giving money or material things, you can give your time, love, prayers, and encouragement. Tell the person you are helping about God’s grace and His love for them. The time that you spend with them and the special attention that you give them can mean the world and really help them feel better despite what they may be going through. Don’t give out of a sense of obligation or the desire to get rewarded, but give out of love – love for God and love for other people.

“There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.” – John Holmes
