We watched the Disney Channel original movie, Princess Protection Program, in 2009 and really enjoyed it because it had a great storyline and taught valuable lessons that we can all learn from. Here are three of them:
1. The Importance of Friendship – Friends are important in every person’s life but we must make sure we have the right friends because they can have great influence on who we will become. After Carter gets over her dislike with Rosie they become really close and Rosie helps Carter overcome her insecurities. In return, Carter is determined to help Rosie save her country. Unlike them, Brooke comes to discover that she does not have a true friend in Chelsea who is vain and only cares for herself.
2. Being True to Yourself – When Chelsea tries to make Rosie look foolish at the ice cream shop, she says, “I am not a fool and nobody can make me something that I’m not.” Rosie knows that she is a princess, even while not wearing a crown. Just like she is sure of who she is, we should be, too.
3. Real Princess – Carter learns from Rosie that everyone can be a princess. It isn’t about the tiara or designer dresses or growing up in a rich palace, but who you are inside. People will know you are a princess by how you carry yourself both inside and out, how you care for others, and how you make a difference in the world around you.
