He Wants to Hear From You

The thing we call prayer is simply talking to God. And it is one of the simplest things to do. Since God already knows everything about us, is in control of all that happens, and already sees the future we do not have to come before Him in fear or regret.

God wants us to pray to Him for several reasons:

(1) To serve and obey Him – God has commanded us to pray in His Holy Word, the Bible. We are to pray even when we do not feel like it. When times are tough, pray; and when times are easy, pray. Even Jesus, when He was here on Earth, prayed to His Heavenly Father.

(2) To receive His blessings, forgiveness, and wisdom – When we need or want something, we can ask God for it. However, asking doesn’t mean we will always get it or that God will give it to us right away. He knows what is best for us and He will not give us anything that will harm us. Just trust Him. When we mess up in life, we can ask for His forgiveness and He will always give us a clean slate. When we have a problem or don’t know what to do in a situation, we can pray and He will give us the right answer.

(3) To show faith in Him – When we fail to pray, we show that our faith in God is weak because we do not believe He will answer us. 1 John 5:14-15 says: “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.” Do not doubt God. With Him, everything is possible and anything can happen. Pray in faith and believe God will move for you.

God wants to hear from you. He wants to hear from everyone about everything – whether it is big, small, important, or insignificant. God doesn’t want us to walk alone so whenever you are sad, troubled, worried, lonely, or have a problem, turn to Him and talk to Him. He will hear you. He will always answer.
