1 Kings 8
Focus Verse: Praise be to the Lord, who has given rest to his people Israel just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses. (56)

God did not fail to fulfill the promises He gave to Moses. Throughout the Bible we can read about the promises that He has made to us. God has promised us victory over death (I Corinthians 15:57); God has promised to supply all our needs (Philippians 4:19); God has promised to work all things out for good to those who love Him (Romans 8:28); God has promised that anyone who believes in Jesus the Christ will receive salvation (Mark 16:16); and God has promised us eternal life (John 10:28). We can claim these promises and many more because God will not fail to fulfill them. All of His promises are “Yes” and “Amen”.

1 Kings 9
Focus Verse: I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised David your father when I said, ‘You shall never fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.’ (5)

God told Solomon that he would be blessed as long as he was obedient and served Him faithfully. If Solomon was not obedient, then his throne would be destroyed and the blessings would cease. The blessings of God on our lives also depend on our obedience and faithfulness to Him. It would not be consistent with God’s character if He gave us gifts while letting us remain in sin.

Acts 8:1-25
Focus Verse: Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went. (4)

Wherever we go, with words and through actions, we should preach the Gospel.
