1 Year In God’s Word: Day 209 — Psalm 104-105, 1 Thessalonians 1

Psalm 104
Focus Verse: You set a boundary they cannot cross; never again will they cover the earth. (9)

God has command over all of nature. The winds and the waves obeyed Him when Jesus was in a boat in a storm with a group of scared disciples. The winds and the waves still obey Him today. After the Flood, God promised that the waters would never cover all the earth again. It hasn’t yet and it never will.

Psalm 105
Focus Verse: Till what he foretold came to pass, till the word of the Lord proved him true. (19)

God had given Joseph a dream and others laughed. But even in a foreign land among strange people and unpleasant circumstances, Joseph remained faithful and in God’s good time, his dream came true.

1 Thessalonians 1
Focus Verse: The Lord’s message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia—your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it. (8)

Paul didn’t have to tell other believers about the Thessalonians’ faith because they lived it out wherever they went. We shouldn’t always have to tell people that we’re Christians; they should be able to see it. Our faith isn’t just something that comes out of our mouths. It is who we are. It should be seen in all we do.
