Psalm 119:1-88
Focus Verse: How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. (9)

How can we know right from wrong? How can we choose to do the right thing in every situation? How can we avoid sin and evil? How can we keep ourselves from giving in to temptation? How can we be people of virtue in a world full of vice? By reading God’s Word and applying it to every part of our lives.

1 Thessalonians 5
Focus Verse: And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. (14)

First, we should make sure that we are doing good and living godly lives. Then, we are to be a help to others by motivating them to good works in every situation. Instead of getting angry at those who are lazy and disruptive, we are to warn them to change their behavior. Instead of condemning those who are disheartened, we are to encourage them. Instead of ignoring or making fun of those who are weak, we are to help them. And we are to be patient, kind and loving to everyone else.
