1 Year In God’s Word: Day 215 — Psalm 120-122, 2 Thessalonians 2

Psalm 120
Focus Verse: In my distress I cried unto the Lord, and he heard me. (1)

When stressed out, do we turn to God? When we are in distress, do we go to Him in prayer? If not, we should. In the good times and in the bad times, He always hears and answers us.

Psalm 121
Focus Verse: Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. (4)

The God that kept Israel is the same God that keeps us today. He has not slept at all since the beginning of time. He is always ready to help and comfort us. He is always watching over us and provides safety from all that would cause us harm.

Psalm 122
Focus Verse: I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord. (1)

We too should be glad whenever it is time to worship God in His house. But that should not be the only place in which we worship God. The chief aim of all that we do and all that we hope to be should be to bring glory to God.

2 Thessalonians 2
Focus Verse: Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. (15)

Many people have been saying for several years now that we are living in the end times or last days. Various folk have been accused of being the anti-Christ and still others have claimed to be the second coming of Jesus. The truth is that no one knows when these events will take place. We are given signs in the Bible that tell us the end is near, but the actual happenings may not come to pass until ten more years have come and gone or until ten thousand more years have come and gone. Whatever the case, true followers of Christ have been warned to be on guard against false prophets and prophecies and teachings. We must stand fast and hold fast to the faith that we have been taught and that we know to be true.
