1 Year In God’s Word: Day 216 — Psalm 123-125, 2 Thessalonians 3

Psalm 123
Focus Verse: I lift up my eyes to you, to you who sit enthroned in heaven. (1)

Our help and our hope comes from the Lord. It is to Him that we should be constantly lifting our eyes and our voices.

Psalm 124
Focus Verse: If the Lord had not been on our side when people attacked us. (2)

If we really think about it, we will find ourselves coming to the same conclusion as David. We would still be lost if it had not been for Christ’s salvation. We would be without hope in an oft-hopeless world, without joy, without peace, without assurance of eternal life if it had not been for the goodness of God. Truly, if the Lord was against us and not on our side, where would we be?

Psalm 125
Focus Verse: Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. (1)

God will endure forever and so will all those who place their trust in Him.

2 Thessalonians 3
Focus Verse: And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good. (13)

Doing what is good isn’t always easy. It certainly isn’t always popular, but Paul instructs us to never get tired of choosing to do just that. God has called us to do good works and to do them until Christ returns or until He calls us home.
