1 Year In God’s Word: Day 219 — Psalm 133-135, 1 Corinthians 2

Psalm 133
Focus Verse: How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! (1)

God loves to see His people live and work and celebrate and serve Him together in unity. Even with our differences, it is possible for us to maintain a spirit of harmony in what we do and say and how we treat one another. We might as well practice living together in unity now; we’ll have to do it for all of eternity in Heaven.

Psalm 134
Focus Verse: May the Lord bless you from Zion, he who is the Maker of heaven and earth. (3)

We shouldn’t doubt that the one Who made us also wants to bless us.

Psalm 135
Focus Verse: Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them. (18)

If we place our trust in perishable people and things, we will also perish like them. But if we trust in the Eternal One, we also will live forever.

1 Corinthians 2
Focus Verse: My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power. (4)

When we share our faith with others, we shouldn’t depend on the eloquence of our words or focus on how convincing our story sounds. Instead, we should pray and depend upon God’s Holy Spirit to move in the lives of others and bring their hearts to trust in Him.
