Psalm 73
Focus Verse: But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds. (28)

It is good to be near God. The nearer we get to Him, the nearer He gets to us. Every step of our Christian journey should bring us closer and closer to God until we arrive in our Father’s home, safe and at rest. Listen to this.

Psalm 85
Focus Verse: You forgave the iniquity of your people and covered all their sins. (2)

This is what Jesus did for us when He died on the cross. In His agony, He forgave all of our wrongdoings – past, present and future. The blood that He shed completely covered all our sins.

1 Corinthians 11:17-34
Focus Verse: For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. (26)

When we take communion with other believers, we do not do so needlessly. We are commanded to do so in order to remember Christ’s body which was broken for us and Christ’s blood which was shed for us. “The purpose of the Lord’s Supper is to receive from Christ the nourishment and strength and hope and joy that come from feasting our souls on all that He purchased for us on the cross, especially His own fellowship.” – John Piper
