1 Year In God’s Word: Day 321 — Ezekiel 5-7, 1 Timothy 4

Ezekiel 5
Focus Verse: “Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself am against you, Jerusalem, and I will inflict punishment on you in the sight of the nations. (8)

Once again, God promises to punish the people of Jerusalem for their disobedience. He is extremely angry, and will not be satisfied until His wrath has been spent.

Ezekiel 6
Focus Verse: And they will know that I am the Lord; I did not threaten in vain to bring this calamity on them. (10)

God does not give idle threats. What He promises to do, whether good or bad, will come to pass.

Ezekiel 7
Focus Verse: I am about to pour out my wrath on you and spend my anger against you. I will judge you according to your conduct and repay you for all your detestable practices. (8)

God does not get angry for no reason. He does not dispense wrath without cause. He promises to judge His people according to their conduct and their despicable ways.

1 Timothy 4
Focus Verse: Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. (12)

If we are devoted to our faith as young people and show diligence to the tasks God has given us to do, we will be an example to other believers. Older Christians will not have any reason to look down on our age (or lack thereof), because our actions and our attitudes will glorify Christ.
