Ezekiel 20
Focus Verse: “‘As for you, people of Israel, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Go and serve your idols, every one of you! But afterward you will surely listen to me and no longer profane my holy name with your gifts and idols. (39)

God is always hoping for His people to do the right thing. He was pulling for the people of Israel back then and He is pulling for all of His children today to listen to Him and obey Him.

Ezekiel 21
Focus Verse: “Son of man, prophesy and say, ‘This is what the Lord says: “‘A sword, a sword, sharpened and polished— (9)

God uses the heathen nation of Babylon as a sword of judgment against Israel.

2 Timothy 4
Focus Verse: But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was delivered from the lion’s mouth. (17)

This reminds me of David saying in Psalm 27: If my father and mother leave or abandon me, the Lord will take me in. Always remember that you are never alone. If no one supports you and everyone deserts you, as happened to Paul, know that the Lord is beside you and will give you all the strength you need to accomplish what He created you to accomplish. He will deliver you. He will rescue you. He will protect you. His grip on you will not loosen until you are safely in His heavenly kingdom.
