Mark 1:1-22
(1-8) John the Baptist Prepares the Way
Even though John the Baptist went before Jesus the Christ, he knew that he was not above Jesus the Christ. He did not even consider himself worthy to untie the straps of Jesus’ sandals. He was only able to baptize with water, but Christ had the power to baptize with the Holy Ghost.

(9-11) The Baptism of Jesus
May we live our lives in such a way that when we stand before Christ, He will be able to say to us, “You are my beloved son/daughter; with you I am well pleased.”

(14-15) Jesus Begins His Ministry
The moment He started His ministry, Jesus acted out and taught the will of His Father. Even though He was God, He did not do or say what He wanted. His arrival brought the kingdom of God to earth. He came proclaiming the gospel of God.

(16-20) Jesus Calls the First Disciples
Jesus’ first disciples had the mentality of Corrie Ten Boom. They didn’t ask questions or give instructions or beg to know what would happen next, they just reported for duty.

Favorite verse: (11) And a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”
