New Testament In a Year: March 4 – Mark 9:30-50

Mark 9:30-50
(30-32) Jesus Again Foretells Death, Resurrection
We do not ever need to be afraid of asking Jesus anything as the disciples were afraid in this moment. For one, Jesus already knows all our questions, and He is willing and able to answer each and every one of them if we would but ask. Nothing is too difficult for Him.

(33-37) Who Is the Greatest?
Jesus said “whoever receives me, receives…him who sent me.” There are many ways to Jesus the Christ, but there is only one way to God and that way is through His Son. If we reject the Son, we reject the Father.

(38-41) Anyone Not Against Us Is for Us
This passage is good for all Christians to remember. Just because other followers of Christ are of a different denomination, have a different way of worshiping, or serve God in ways different from ours, we should not seek to discredit their faith or stop them from serving. Diversity is a hallmark of the kingdom of God.

Favorite verse: (35) And he sat down and called the twelve. And he said to them, “If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.”
