New Testament In a Year: March 9 – Mark 12:1-27

Mark 12:1-27
(1-12) The Parable of the Tenants
The Jewish leaders suspected that Jesus the Christ was speaking this parable against them (which He was), but instead of receiving it, they rejected it. When we are reprimanded by God through others, we should listen and obey and work to change instead of turning away from correction.

(13-17) Paying Taxes to Caesar
Beware of flatterers! Before asking Jesus the Christ their “trick” question, the Pharisees first attempted to lavish Him with insincere praise over His teachings.

(18-27) The Sadducees Ask About the Resurrection
Beware of deceivers! The Sadducees came to Jesus with a question about the resurrection, yet they do not even believe that there is a resurrection.

Favorite verse: (11) This was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?
