Luke 9:1-17
(1-6) Jesus Sends Out the Twelve Apostles
Jesus was not only interested in attracting people to Him and keeping them around Him. He was also interested in sending them out. Once He changed their lives, He wanted them to change the lives of others. The proof of our salvation and the success of our Christianity does not exist in how many Sundays we go to church without fail, but in how many others we share the Gospel with and bring to Christ.

(7-9) Herod Is Perplexed by Jesus
Herod was not a sincere seeker of Jesus. He only wanted to see Jesus because of all the wonderful things he had heard about Him. During Jesus’ trial, when Pilate sent Jesus to him, Herod was excited that he would finally be able to see the Christ. But when Jesus did not perform any miracles and did not even answer him one word, then Herod mocked Him and did not want to have anything to do with Him.

Favorite verse: (9) Herod said, “John I beheaded, but who is this about whom I hear such things?” And he sought to see him.
