(31-45) Jesus and the Woman of Samaria
When the disciples urged Jesus to eat, He told them, “I have food to eat that you do not know about…My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work.” Doing the work of God satisfies us in a way that physical food is unable to do. The Living Water and the Bread of Life eternally fulfills our spiritual hunger.
Because the Samaritan woman was bold enough to share her testimony of how Jesus the Christ changed her life, many believed on Him. Many more believed on Him because they heard not only the woman’s words, but the words of Christ Himself. Do not be afraid to tell your God story. Sharing what Christ has done for you has the potential to change the lives of many others.
(46-54) Jesus Heals an Official’s Son
When Jesus told the official, “Go; your son will live,” he believed the word and went on his way. The man displayed faith in action. He did not have to see Jesus heal his son before he believed. He had faith that what Jesus said had happened, and went back to his home believing that his son was healed. We must take Jesus at His Word, fully believing everything that He has told us in Scripture and will tell us through prayer. Do not wait to see a sign or witness a miracle. Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
