John 5:25-47
(25-29) The Authority of the Son
Jesus the Christ is able to raise the dead back to life through His voice because the Father has granted Him authority to do so. Because they are equal in power, life resides in them both and death has no dominion over them. All those who are now dead will one day be resurrected; those who believe in Him will be resurrected to eternal life, those who did not believe will be resurrected to eternal judgment.

(30-47) Witnesses to Jesus
You’ve probably heard it said that everyone has an agenda. There are some people who say they have no agenda, but their agenda is that they have no agenda. Christ is truly the only one who came into the world without an agenda of His own. From His birth in the manger until His ascension into Heaven, Christ’s agenda was to seek and accomplish God’s agenda. He was all about His Father’s business, not His own. He wanted God’s Kingdom to come. He wanted God’s will to be done. All of the works that He did bore witness of His Father. He came in God’s name and He sought to bring glory to that name in all that He did.

Favorite verse: (25) “Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.
