(28-31) Can This Be the Christ?
God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit were all in agreement that Jesus should come to save us from our sins and from eternal punishment, but Jesus did not come of His own accord. His Father sent Him. Because we did not know God and could not know God on our own, God sent Christ into the world so that we could know Him through His Son.
(37-39) Rivers of Living Water
Jesus the Christ gives a great invitation: If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He boldly calls us to Himself because He knows that only He is able to satisfy our inner thirst. When we accept Christ’s invitation, we make way for the Holy Spirit to not only flow into our lives, but to also flow out of our lives. We receive a Heavenly blessing which enables us to then be a blessing to others.
(40-52) Division Among the People
Jesus the Christ still divides people today. Some trust in Him as Savior, others do not. Some believe that He came to earth, others believe that He never existed. Some consider Him to be the Christ, others just see Him as a great prophet. This division among people does not take away from the reality of Who Christ truly is.
Favorite verse: (37) On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.
