John 12:1-26
(1-8) Mary Anoints Jesus at Bethany
This is a beautiful picture of a family making the most of their time with Jesus in their own way. Lazarus kept Jesus company. Martha served Him. And Mary anointed Him. Since they were communing with Christ in sincerity from their hearts, each of their actions were equally important. Mary’s was not greater than Martha’s, nor was Martha’s greater than Lazarus. Do not underestimate the time you spend in service to God. Make the most of it.

(9-11) The Plot to Kill Lazarus
On account of Lazarus, many Jews were believing on Jesus. Lazarus had an amazing life-to-death-to-life-again testimony to share. All believers in Christ have a similar testimony. We have died (been crucified with Christ), nevertheless we live (Christ liveth in us), and we will never die again. Are people moved to believe on Jesus by looking at our life?

Favorite verse: (15) “Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt!”
