John 13:21-38
(31-35) A New Commandment
People should be able to tell that we are disciples of Jesus the Christ by how we love them and by how we love one another. Just as love motivated Jesus’ life, love should motivate ours as well. Love is bold. Love is brave. Love is not afraid. The love we have for God and others should set us apart from the apathy and hate that is all too common in this world.

(36-38) Jesus Foretells Peter’s Denial
Even though he would later deny the Christ, Peter was more than ready to give his life for Him right then and there in this instance. He did not understand that Christ first had to die for him before he could die for Christ.

Favorite verse: (34) A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.
