New Testament In a Year: June 16 – Acts 3

Acts 3
(1-10) The Lame Beggar Healed
The most important thing we can give people, even those who are sick or in need, is not money or material wealth; but the Gospel of Jesus the Christ. The Gospel provides instant spiritual healing. The Gospel also provides assurance that all physical diseases and disabilities will one day be wiped out. As soon as the lame beggar was healed, he praised God for the miracle that had taken place in his life. He recognized that his healing had come from above.

(11-26) Peter Speaks in Solomon’s Portico
Peter and John also recognized that the miracle had occurred because of the power of God. They did not take any credit for it. They immediately told the astounded people that there was no need to stare at them as if they had made the lame beggar walk. Peter pointed to God as the source of the healing. He used this miracle as an opportunity to proclaim Christ and share the Gospel with others. We too should make the most of every moment that God provides and turn it into an opportunity to share our faith.

Favorite verse: (6) But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!”
