2 Corinthians 3
(1-18) Ministers of the New Covenant
Paul’s confidence does not come from being sufficient in himself. He has confidence because he recognizes that his sufficiency is from God through Christ. We too can be confident in sharing the Gospel and in our faith because Christ has made us sufficient in God.
When Moses was given the Ten Commandments, the Israelites could not look on his face long because the glory of God shone so bright there. Moses’ glory was only temporary and soon came to an end. The glory that the Gospel gives, however, is permanent. The Ten Commandments brought condemnation to people, but the Gospel brings salvation.
Only the Holy Spirit is able to remove the veil of spiritual blindness that exists over the hearts and minds of unsaved men and women. When one turns to the Lord and believes in Him as Savior, the veil is removed. We have freedom and boldness and hope in Christ. Each day we are transformed more and more into the glory of the Lord.
