New Testament In a Year: November 3 – Hebrews 1

Hebrews 1
(1-14) The Supremacy of God’s Son
In the past, God spoke to people and revealed Himself by prophets. But now, God speaks to us and reveals Himself to us by His Son, Jesus the Christ. The world was created through Christ and Christ is also the heir of all created things. He radiates the glory of God and is an exact reflection of His Father.

We should not mistake Jesus for just another Heavenly being. He is far more than that. Jesus the Christ is both the begotten Son of God and God the Son. Because of His deistic nature, Christ is far superior than the angels and He receives their worship. Even though Christ is God’s Son, He is also God, just as the Holy Spirit is also God. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are one and the same, eternal, and cannot be divided. In the beginning, they created the world together. At the end of time, they will roll up the world like a robe. The earth will perish and the heavens will change, but Christ will remain. The earth will wear out, but Christ will stay the same and His years will have no end.

Jesus the Christ will one day rule the earth from Heaven’s throne, but the angels are only meant to serve those who are saved.
