Hebrews 10:1-18
(1-18) Christ’s Sacrifice Once for All
Once again, we see that the blood of animals which were offered by priests of old were inadequate to take away sins once and for all. That can only be done by the blood of Jesus the Christ. If the animal sacrifices were able to make perfect, the priests would not have had to offer them year after year. When Christ came into the world, however, He knew that God took no pleasure in burnt offerings, sin offerings, and animal sacrifices. He came to please His Father by doing His will and offering up His own body on the cross.

When we are sanctified through the blood of Jesus the Christ, we do not have to be re-sanctified every year or every time we do something wrong. There remains no reminder of sins. Instead, Christ takes away our sins and removes them as far from us as the east is from the west. It is a once for all transaction.

With a single offering, Christ made perfect all those who are sanctified. He does not have to come down from Heaven and offer Himself on the cross again. He is now at the right hand of God waiting for the day when He will rightfully rule all of Creation and be with those who believe in Him.
