Old Testament In a Year: January 7 – Genesis 18, 19

Genesis 18, 19
Focus Verse: Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, about this time next year, and Sarah shall have a son. – Genesis 18:14

How big are your dreams? How vast are your hopes? How deep are your desires?

I pray they are as big as a thousand mountains, as vast as the expanse of the heavens, and as deep as the oceans. Because the God who made the mountains, the heavens, and the oceans can also make your dreams come true, bring your hopes to pass, and fulfill your desires.

Why shrink your hopes or scale back your dreams? Why lay only half of your desires before God? Is anything too hard for Him? Of course not. You cannot make your dreams a reality, but God can. You cannot fulfill the promises made to you in the Word, but God can. Do not “attempt to rob God of His power” to do the impossible by questioning Him.

This is no time to sink into doldrums of doubt or throw a disbelieving fit of laughter. God is at work. Instead, say, “Yes He can!”
