Job 28, 29
Focus Verse: And he said to man, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.’” – Job 28:28

Wisdom – where does it come from? Understanding – where can it be found?

God alone understands the way to wisdom and He alone knows where it can be found. The way to wisdom is also the way to God and understanding can be found in Him.

To fear God – to love and respect and obey Him; to believe in His justice when things are unjust and in His righteousness when things are wrong; to trust His light even when you are surrounded by darkness; to relinquish your imperfections to His perfection. This is wisdom.

To turn away from evil – to totally abandon sin; to hate evil and love good; to act justly and walk humbly; to strive to do right and tell the truth; to help the poor and be a parent to the parentless; to be eyes to the blind and feet to the lame. This is understanding. This is worth more than gold and silver. Neither crystal, jewels, nor pearls can equal it.

Wisdom – it comes from God. Understanding – it can be found in His goodness.
