Genesis 46, 47, 48
Focus Verse: And he blessed Joseph and said, “The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has been my shepherd all my life long to this day, – Genesis 48:15

The Biblical definition of shepherd is: of the feeder, protector, and ruler of a flock of men; someone who the Lord raises up to care for the total well-being of His flock (the people of the Lord); and/or someone to whose care and control others have committed themselves, and whose precepts they follow.

With living water and bread of life, God feeds you.

With a strong hand and an outstretched arm, God protects you.

As Creator of all things, God rules you.

He loves you, and shows His love by caring for your total well-being. He desires for you to be spiritually sound, physically healthy, mentally bright, and emotionally stable.

Commit yourself to the care and control of God, follow in His footsteps, and He will gently guide you to calm waters and green pastures. Heaven forbid, but if you roam off and get lost, God will search for you and find you and bring you safely back home. There is nothing God would not do for you, including laying down His life for you. This is how great His love is for you.

With God as your shepherd, you have all you need. He will be with you all your life long.
