Psalm 90; Leviticus 1, 2
Focus Verse: Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. – Psalm 90:2

When there was nothing, there was God.

God was God before He created the mountains. God was God before He brought the earth into existence. From beginning (past) to end (future), God is God. God was always God. God will always be God – the one, true God; the never-changing God. His existence does not depend on the existence of anyone or anything else. Changes that happen in His creation and among His creatures does not change Him. Heaven and earth may disappear, the grass may wither, and flowers may fade, but God will always remain.

Before you were born, God was God. And after you are gone, God will still be God. He is the only constant in an ever-changing world. Your only sure place of rest, safety, and love is found in Him.

You will perish. Everyone you love and care for will perish. Everything that brings you happiness and comfort will one day cease to exist. Only God will remain. Only He lives forever. And when you become one in Him, you also will become ever-living.
