Old Testament In a Year: March 3 – Leviticus 15, 16

Leviticus 15, 16
Focus Verse: And Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over it all the iniquities of the people of Israel, and all their transgressions, all their sins. And he shall put them on the head of the goat and send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a man who is in readiness. – Leviticus 16:21

One goat was killed to make atonement for sin, and the other goat was kept alive to take away sin. Jesus the Christ represents both goats. He also represents the High Priest.

As High Priest, Christ reconciles you to God by becoming the sacrifice and the scape-goat for your sin.

As the killed goat (sacrifice), He died for your sin.

As the living goat (scape-goat), He bears away your sin, giving you full and free remission of it. As the living goat, He also rises again, justifying you in the sight of God. Christ is your all in all. Everything you need for salvation, redemption, and forgiveness, you will find in Him.
