Old Testament In a Year: March 6 – Leviticus 21, 22

Leviticus 21, 22
Focus Verse: No man of the offspring of Aaron the priest who has a blemish shall come near to offer the Lord’s food offerings; since he has a blemish, he shall not come near to offer the bread of his God. – Leviticus 21:21

When Jesus the Christ made the once for all sacrifice for your sin by giving of His own body and blood, He did away with Old Testament temple rules and regulations. He reversed rules that restricted certain people from coming to God on their own and asking Him for forgiveness with their own mouths. He rewrote regulations that only allowed the high priest, and not common people, to enter into God’s presence. At the moment of His death, Christ tore the temple veil in two and cleared the way for all people – rich and poor, Jew and Gentile, educated and illiterate, sinner and saint – to enter into the Holy of Holies.

Christ removed the barrier between God and you. You can approach your Father’s glorious throne of grace in whatever state you are in.

You don’t have to remove your blemishes. You don’t have to try to blot out your stains. You don’t have to have solutions to your problems or clean up your messes. You don’t have to be perfect.

Come to God as you are. Approach the Almighty with confidence. And from Him, receive mercy and grace, love and liberty. From Him, receive all you need.
