Old Testament In a Year: April 3 – Deuteronomy 28, 29

Deuteronomy 28, 29
Focus Verse: And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you shall only go up and not down, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, being careful to do them. – Deuteronomy 28:13

Everyone wants to be the head and not the tail. Everyone wants to go up and not down. Everyone wants to be in a position to lend, and not borrow. Everyone wants to be prosperous, not poor; blessed by God, and not stressed. But being blessed by God is hinged on how obedient you are to Him.

Just as He did to the Israelites, God sets before you a blessing and a curse. If you are obedient to Him and to His good ways, you will be blessed. But if you ignore Him and His commands, you will not be blessed.

It is God’s desire for you to live a life of blessing. And when you are blessed by Him, you will be blessed in such an abundant way that you will not have room enough to receive it all.
