Old Testament In a Year: April 9 – Joshua 10, 11, 12

Joshua 10, 11, 12
Focus Verse: And the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, until the nation took vengeance on their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jashar? The sun stopped in the midst of heaven and did not hurry to set for about a whole day. – Joshua 10:13

The sun stood still and did not set for a whole day.

The moon stopped.

How was this possible? How did this happened?

The answer: Faith.

Joshua’s fearlessness before his enemies, his strength and courage in the face of war, and his unshakeable faith and trust in God caused the impossible to become possible for him and for those who were with him. A miracle took place because he believed.

In faith, Joshua said, Sun, stand still at Gibeon, and moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.

God answered Joshua’s faith by suspending the laws of nature. He stayed the sun and stopped the moon just as Joshua had requested. Once again, God proved that nothing was too hard for Him.

What difficulty are you facing? What hardship, what trouble, what worry consumes your mind and steals your peace? Whatever it is, DO NOT BE AFRAID OF IT. DO NOT BE DISMAYED BY IT. Be strong. Be courageous. Be filled with faith. The same God that answered Joshua and fought for Joshua and stood by Joshua is ready and able to answer you, to fight for you, and to stand by you.
