Old Testament In a Year: April 12 – Joshua 19, 20, 21

Joshua 19, 20, 21
Focus Verse: Not one word of all the good promises that the Lord had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass. – Joshua 21:45

In Genesis – the very first book of the Bible – God promised Abraham to make of him a great nation and give them the land of Canaan for an inheritance. Now, in Joshua – the sixth book of the Bible – God’s promise to Abraham came to pass. It took many long years, but God did what He said He would do. From Abraham’s seed, a vast nation had been born, and that vast nation now possessed the Promised Land as their own.

Scripture is full of the good promises that God has made to you and to all who believe in Him. You can trust in the promises of God. Each one of them will be fulfilled. Not one of them will fail.

God has promised to give you a land as well – an eternal land with streets of gold, where there is no need of sun or moon or stars, and where you will live face-to-face with God forever. Jesus said, “I go to prepare a place for you that where I am you may be also.” This is a promise from Him who cannot lie. On earth, He will do more for you than you can ask or imagine. After earth, He will bring you safe and sound into the Heavenly land that He promised you.
