Old Testament In a Year: April 16 – Judges 7, 8

Judges 7, 8
Focus Verse: As soon as Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, he worshiped. And he returned to the camp of Israel and said, “Arise, for the Lord has given the host of Midian into your hand.” – Judges 7:15

Before he experienced victory over Midian, Gideon worshiped God. He didn’t wait until after the battle was over to praise God. He praised God before the battle. This was a sign that Gideon’s faith finally conquered his fear. He fully believed the word of the Lord.

In this world, you will have battles to fight. But because of Christ, victory is already yours. He has overcome all trouble, every darkness, sin, death, and hell. And because He has overcome, you have overcome as well.

You don’t have to wait until the battle is over or until your blessing comes to worship God. You can worship God before the battle. You can worship God in the midst of the battle. You can worship God while you’re waiting on your blessing. Why? Because the battle has already been won. The blessing is already in your hand.
