Old Testament In a Year: June 11 – Proverbs 2, 3, 4

Proverbs 2, 3, 4
Focus Verse: He taught me and said to me, “Let your heart hold fast my words; keep my commandments, and live.” – Proverbs 4:4

Solomon remembers the instructions that his father, David, gave to him as a boy. The instructions that David gave to Solomon are similar to the ones that your Father, God, wants you to hear and obey today.

Hold fast to My words, God says. And keep My commandments. If you do so, you will live – not just in this world, but in the world to come.

Through the words that I have spoken to you in My Holy Word, the Bible, you will gain insight, wisdom, and understanding. If you do not forsake My words, they will keep you. If you love my words, they will guard you. If you prize them highly, they will exalt you. If you embrace them, they will honor you.

As you walk through life, My words will keep you from being hampered. And when you run, My words will keep you from stumbling.

Keep a tight hold on My words and do not let them go; for they will illumine your path like the light of dawn, causing it to shine brighter and brighter until I return to you.
