You are the shade in the heat, You are shelter in the cold, You are eyes to the blind, You are a staff to the pilgrim, You are an island in the sea, You are a stronghold upon land, You are healing to the sick. You are the luck of every joy, You are the light of the sun’s beam, You are the door of lordly welcome, You are the pole star of guidance, You are the step of the roe of the height, You are the step of the white-faced mare, You are the grace of the swimming swan, You are the jewel in each mystery.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. – Galatians 5:22-23
Dietrich Bonhoeffer said: “Fruit is always the miraculous, the created; it is never the result of willing, but always a growth. The fruit of the Spirit is a gift of God, and only He can produce it. They who bear it know as little about it as the tree knows of its fruit. They know only the power of Him on whom their life depends.”
The Bible tells us in Galatians 4:24 about the nine fruits of the Spirit: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
Much joy and peace comes with knowing God. Yes, He is great and powerful and should be approached with respect yet we should not dread doing so. The fear of God needs to be in us but we have no need of being afraid of Him. God is for us, not against us. He wants the very best for us all and has no ill wishes toward us.
