“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Each and every one of us was made by God to do something great on this earth for Him. It doesn’t matter what it turns out to be, but it’s sure to be something special once we find out what it is we were made to do. It isn’t right to wish to be like someone else. God made everyone different. In their own special way they are important to Him and to other people in this world. Not every kid was made to be a Disney rocker or a Hollywood star.
Do not lie to each other. – Colossians 3:9
It is never right to lie – not to yourself, not to others, and not to God. People and culture and times may change, but the fact that ‘honesty is the best policy’ never will. It is always right to tell the truth, even if that truth may hurt. It is so much better to be wounded with the truth for a moment, then to be hurt with a lie forever. Most times, telling the truth seems to be hard because lying makes itself look so easy.
In life, do you show others the real you? Do your friends and family truly know who you really are, what you really like? Or do you live underneath a mask, smile behind a plastic shell? Authenticity is all about being real. And there is nothing more that this world needs now then people who are unafraid to be themselves, to tell the truth, and be bold.
The definition of trust is:
a – assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something
b – one in which confidence is placed
“When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it–always.”
― Mahatma Gandhi
When a new day begins, dare to smile gratefully.
When there is darkness, dare to be the first to shine a light.
When there is injustice, dare to be the first to condemn it.
When something seems difficult, dare to do it anyway.
When life seems to beat you down, dare to fight back.
When there seems to be no hope, dare to find some.
When you’re feeling tired, dare to keep going.
When times are tough, dare to be tougher.
When love hurts you, dare to love again.
When someone is hurting, dare to help them heal.
When another is lost, dare to help them find the way.
When a friend falls, dare to be the first to extend a hand.
When you cross paths with another, dare to make them smile.
When you feel great, dare to help someone else feel great too.
When the day has ended, dare to feel as you’ve done your best.
Dare to be the best you can –
At all times, Dare to be!
― Steve Maraboli, Life, the Truth, and Being Free
When everyone seems to be dashing madly for what is wrong, it can be very hard to stay in love with what is right. When trouble comes walking down the path to meet us with its arm extended, it can be extremely tempting for us to take that hand in ours. But people shouldn’t have the impression that our ideas, opinions and decisions are shaped by what they do. You have to stand for something and sometimes, most times you have to stand for that something alone.
