Luke 1:21-38
(26-38) Birth of Jesus Foretold
Perhaps one of the reasons God chose Mary to give birth to His Son was because she had an available heart. Of course, she was taken aback when the angel Gabriel first appeared to her and greeted her in such a great manner. She asked one question – “How will this be, since I am a virgin?” – but immediately after that she said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” Without further inquiry, she submitted herself to the will of the Lord and made herself available for His plan and purpose to be fulfilled through her.

God does not look at our ability. He is looking for our availability. If we are humble, trust Him, and make ourselves available to His purpose and power and plans, God will use us in ways far beyond we can even dream of.
